English According to Guglielmo Gorni, a ‘canzoniere’ is a collection of lyrics with an ‘Alfa’, an ‘Omega’, and, in the middle, a ‘progressive alphabet’ of poems in which every text has its own place. However, those who have studied the structure of the canzoniere of Gaspara Stampa (1554) had to deal with an apparent disorder and with the lack of an unequivocal end. This contribution provides a new interpretation of the structure of the editio princeps and a suggestion for a ‘new’ Omega for Stampa’s canzoniere.
