La confluencia genérica en el cuento Otas de Roma del manuscrito escurialense H-I-13 : en búsqueda de un género literario

English Spanish This essay, based on a short story from the beginning of the 14th century, investigates the convergence of genres in El cuento muy fermoso del enperador Otas de Roma that derives from the French chanson Florence de Rome from the beginning of the 13th century. The text found in the Escorial manuscript h-I-13 as well as the other works from this anthology have some similarities with the hagiographic models. But, taking in consideration the characters traits and the general structure of this short story, we should rather consider it as a chivalric romance that incorporates religious elements to its highly ideological and moral content. This process corresponds to the political and ethical vision of the period and thus reflects the “molinism”, a movement promoted by Maria de Molina in order to impose, through the discourse, the political and social order of the Royal family upon the order of the aristocracy. El presente estudio, basado en un breve relato de principios del siglo XIV, reflexiona sobre la confluencia genérica en El cuento muy fermoso del enperador Otas de Roma derivado de la chanson francesa Florence de Rome, de comienzos del siglo XIII. Si bien el texto ubicado en el manuscrito escurialense h-I-13 mantiene como las demás obras de esta antología ciertos parecidos con los modelos hagiográficos, hay que considerarlo más bien, tanto por las características de sus personajes como por su estructura general, como un romance de materia caballeresca que incorpora elementos religiosos a su fuerte contenido ideológico y moral. Dicho proceso corresponde a la visión política y ética del período y refleja así el “molinismo”, movimiento promovido por doña Maria de Molina para imponer mediante el discurso el orden político y social de la realeza contra el de la aristocracia.
