English This article concerns a unique document: a reworking, in the vernacular language of North-East Italy, of Radulphus Brito’s Questiones in Meteorologica, transmitted in Lucca, Biblioteca Statale, ms. 1385 and dating from the first half of the fourteenth century. After briefly reviewing the two known stages of the medieval reception of Aristotle’s Meteorology in the vernacular, namely Mahieu le Vilain’s Livre des Météores and the anonymous Florentine Metaura, I provide an overview of the structure and content of the Lucca commentary, especially in relation to its main source, Radulphus Brito’s Questiones in Meteorologica. I then put forward hypotheses concerning what led the anonymous author of the Italian vernacularisation to turn to Radulphus Brito’s commentary, hypotheses which may explain, in a more general way, the fortune of Aristotle’s Meteorology outside the university. Finally, I present a comparison between the three vernacular versions identified so far.
