English The Gospel of trust and prayer is the pedestal of faith on which one can build one or other theology of Providence, with the constant need to evaluate its theoretical progress in the light of the Gospel itself. In dialogue with Thomas Aquinas, we shall test our hypothesis in three stages: i) how to manage the hierarchy and connection of truths between prayer and Providence, ii) how to conciliate the efficacy of petitionary prayer with the immutability of Providence iii) and, finally, is there really a response by Providence to petitionary prayer?
