The article is a part of a “two-voice story” – with Magdalena Smoleń-Wawrzusiszyn
– about the Lexicon of emblems of Polish culture.
The concept of the lexicon was developed at a scientific workshop held in September 2019 at
the University of Freiburg in Switzerland in cooperation with The John Paul II Catholic University
of Lublin and the University of Lodz as part of the grant awarded by the Swiss National Science
Foundation.
The article presents a draft of the above mentioned lexicon and the results of the workshop.
The author focuses on the glottodidactic dimension of the specific proposals for entries, and discusses
the usage of sample exercises, which in a pragmatic perspective will develop and complement
the entries.
She also poses questions as to the best way of finding the necessary lexicographic material.
