Data envelopment analysis (DEA)technique is used to estimate the technical and scale efficiency of Swiss secondary schools. Results suggest that there is room for improvement in terms of efficiency in resource utilization but the average size of schools under consideration is not far from the optimal size. Socioeconomic environment of pupils and the status of the teacher are significantly associated with technical efficiency.
