Nanosecond lifetime measurements were performed in ¹⁹⁶Au by means of the pulsed-beam technique. Using the centroid-shift method, one new lifetime has been determined and three known have been re-measured. The data for the transition probabilities are compared to the predictions of the extended supersymmetry for ¹⁹⁶Au. The comparison reveals a partial agreement, which can be considered as a success for the theory describing the complicated structure of the odd–odd nucleus.
