English The objective of this master thesis is to study different possible scenarios for Nestlé Ukraine regarding the "Net Zero Roadmap" plan presented by Nestlé in 2020. This action plan aims to move the agricultural world linked to the company towards sustainable agriculture by 2050. Nestlé Ukraine needs to find solutions to local constraints, so that this becomes a reality. Here we focus on agricultural practices, and the GHG emissions that take place on crop lands.
After an extensive literature review, we construct three radically different scenarios for 2040: "Business as usual", "The environment as a core value" and "Between awareness and daily difficulties". We see that it is a minefield in which it is very easy to fall into an ecological, social and/or humanitarian crisis. Nestlé Ukraine has no choice but to find the right balance to preserve the climate, the environment and guarantee food security by remaining profitable. Despite its shortcomings, this report tends to show the complexity of the subject, and to make the reader aware of the influence of strategic decisions on the whole topic. More studies on the subject are needed on more targeted issues, to limit the number of variables as much as possible and to refine Nestlé's strategy to accelerate the transition without jeopardizing the food industry's value chain and the climate.
